After hopelessly searching for this website online, the site has officially made its “google debut”! During the search, I came across a link from the last time CBC aired the Paris Piano documentary. For those of you not aware, it was a documentary of myself and Newfoundland’s Averill Baker, who was also in the competition. My first blog entry describes the experience in detail, so I won’t divulge here. Click on the link below to see the video!!!

The BIGGEST THANK YOU must go out to CBC producer, Helen Bagshaw, who did an incredible job putting this documentary together, despite being so limited in the length of time of the segment. Here’s Averill, myself and Helen proudly waving the Canadian flag at the finals of the competition!
I also had the pleasure of meeting Evan Solomon (co-host of CBC News Sunday), who later hosted a concert in Ottawa that I performed at. He is not only a friendly guy, but he is incredibly hard-working. Evan would make a great Prime Minister.
Anyone who dares to play Beethoven's last Piano Sonata Opus 111 must be fearless and confident in his skills. In the case of Thomas Yu, both are true...[He] plays the piece with elegance and depth...and his interpretation was the highlight of the festival day.
